Internship Regulations
Regulations regarding internships (practicum) for the Bachelor’s Degrees in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education of the “Sagrado Corazón” Teacher Training School, affiliated to the University of Cordoba (approved by the School Board on October 10, 2012)

Organisation of Internships in the Degree Programme
The internship will be undertaken in publicly funded non-university academic institutions of Andalusia (ORDER of 22 June 1998 to regulate internships by university students of the Faculties of Education and Psychology non-university academic institutions. BOJA number 88 of 6 August 1998, p. 9987-9989), and in other centres with which the University of Cordoba has established an agreement to that effect (see Annex 3 of this report)
The practicum shall be undertaken as follows:
- 2nd year (Practicum I: 8 ECTS): immersion and observation
- 3rd year (Practicum II: 18 ECTS): intervention (0-3 years)
- 4th year (Practicum III: 18 ECTS): intervention (3-6 years)
Between the immersion/observation period and the intervention period, students will attend a face-to-face practicum at the University of Cordoba where they will analyse the data collected during the first period and design an intervention project for the second period.
Throughout Practicum II and Practicum III (intervention practices), the stays in schools are divided into two periods. In the first period students will perform the tasks described in content blocks 1, 2, 3 and 4 and design the intervention plan, while in the second period they will implement and assess the plan.

Specific methodology for the Practicum coursework

Assessment of the internship
The internships will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- Attendance and active participation in the preparatory and analysis seminars
- Attendance at tutorials
- Attendance at the face-to-face practicum of the University of Cordoba. The faculties and schools will provide a report on the student’s performance following common assessment criteria. The criteria differs per level and will be provided by the faculty or school involved. Students must successfully complete this phase in order to pass the practicum at any level.
- The report and all documents prepared regarding the observation period and teaching interventions carried out during the internship

The University of Cordoba has signed internship agreements (see attached models) with the following enterprises/institutions. It should be noted that the agreement signed between the Ministry of Education of the Regional Government of Andalusia and the University of Cordoba accredits all non-university educational centres of the province and city of Cordoba to host student interns enrolled in education degree programmes, including the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education. We also signed a collaboration agreement in the 2007/2008 academic year with the city of Cordoba and the Vice-Rector of International Affairs which permits up to 20 students of education to carry out a 15-day internship in the Saharan refugee camps.
Given that the students of the “Sagrado Corazón” school belong to the UCO, they undertake internships in pre-schools and primary schools, as authorised by the Department of Education under the agreement signed between the Regional Ministry of Education of Andalusia and the University of Cordoba, which accredits all non-university educational institutions of the city and province of Cordoba to host student interns enrolled in education degree programmes, including the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education.
Moreover, given the needs of society and our commitment to encouraging student participation in charity and cooperation activities, specific collaboration agreements have been established for the organisation of free-elective, extra-curricular activities.
New agreements that are in the process of adaptation and development based on the model provided by the University of Cordoba for inclusion in the new curriculum.
