Members of Vitenol Research Group receive Jose Luis Messiah award

Members of the Research Group 'Vitenol' as part of the Agrifood Campus of International Excellence of Andalusia (ceiA3) at the University of Córdoba XXIV received the Research Award 'José Luis Iglesias Messiah' Santa Ana granted to the University Center best research presented at the Symposium of Enology and Viticulture Tierra de Barros.

Members of 'Vitenol' Research Group at the University of Córdoba, which is part of the Agrifood Campus of International Excellence of Andalusia (ceiA3) received the XXXV Research Award 'José Luis Iglesias Messiah' granted by Santa Ana University Center to best research work presented at the Symposium of Enology and Viticulture in Tierra de Barros.

Members of the Research Group 'Vitenol' as part of the Agrifood Campus of International Excellence of Andalusia (ceiA3) at the University of Córdoba XXIV received the Research Award 'José Luis Iglesias Messiah' Santa Ana granted to the University Center best research presented at the Symposium of Enology and Viticulture Tierra de Barros.

Award-winning work, “Proteomics of a flor yeast under two distinct ethanol conditions”, was selected among all communications presented at the XXXV Conference. This work has been conducted by Jaime Moreno-García,  M. Carmen Millán, Juan Moreno, J. Carlos Mauricio and Teresa García- Martínez, from the Department of Microbiology and Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science.

The jury emphasized that the scientific communication presented a novel method that allowed detection of 95 proteins related to the Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast response to ethanol toxicity.

Research award 'José Luis Iglesias Messiah' is highly prestigeous among Spanish and Latin American Research Groups and Centers in the field of Viticulture and Enology and was delivered in the closing ceremony of the XXXVI Conference on Viticulture and Enology in Tierra de Barros , held on Friday May 9, 2014.
