In compliance with the regulations that set out the requirements and procedure for the Accreditation of Linguistic Competence in order to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Córdoba, all students must obligatorily accredit at least a B1 level of linguistic competence in a foreign language, according to the provisions of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).

The certifications automatically accepted to accredit the linguistic requirements are set out in Annex 1 of the Regulations, which lay down the requirements and procedure for Accreditation of Linguistic Competences to obtain Graduate Degrees at the University of Córdoba:

Students may also provide certificates that do not appear in the Annex, which will be assessed by the Language Policy Committee according to the following criteria:

- The certification must be issued by an institution of recognised prestige.

- Only multi-skill tests can endorse the students’ linguistic competence. Mere training activities cannot lead to a certificate proving accreditation.

- Productive skills (oral and written) and receptive skills (oral and written) must be evaluated and indicated in the certificate provided.

The procedure begins by submitting an application via the University of Cordoba’s electronic headquarters, addressed to the Dean of the Faculty. The application may be submitted at any time during the academic year and must be accompanied by the certification of linguistic skill. Once the documents have been verified, the Dean will decide on the application. The procedure will last at most three months as of when the application is submitted. With no detriment to the Dean’s obligation to take a decision, after the threemonth period has expired without a decision having been issued, the application will be deemed rejected. The express or presumed decisions by the Dean may be subject to an appeal to the Rector.
